As is well known, underground mining is basically the most demanding and complex mining environment in mine production. In addition to its ruggedness and long life, the models that can be used in underground mining production environments require flexible performance, convenient maintenance and higher productivity. Compared to the R2900 XTRA, the Cat R3000H has significantly increased truck loading capacity, enhanced digging performance, faster ramps, higher front frame strength, and a “reduction ventilation kit†to reduce machine and mine operating costs. These include optimal operator safety and comfort, a field-proven power train and a compact form factor. Goal: Improve production efficiency The R3000H Downhole Mine Loader is the largest LHD (Multi-Function Vehicle) in the Cat line, designed for load-transport and truck loading applications with a rated payload of 22 t. In truck loading applications, the new LHD is 16% more efficient than the R2900 XTRA. Due to the increased capacity, the new loader provides a rigorous three-inch matching capability for the new 66t AD60 downhole articulated truck. The increased lift cylinders are repositioned to provide greater lift, while the extended tilt cylinders provide more invasive digging features that increase payload capacity. In addition, the redesigned torque tube (between the solid steel lift arms) and the new bucket limiter (to reduce the stress when the bucket is pulled back) work together to increase the strength and durability of the front link. The new lock-up clutch torque converter in the R3000H downhole mining loader drive train significantly increases the drive speed on the ramp. This increase in speed has improved the productivity of uphill loading-transport applications. Advantages: reduced ventilation kit In many wells, people pay great attention to reducing particulate matter (PM) emissions from diesel exhaust in mobile equipment. Careful adjustment of PM levels in the downhole environment has been made, and maintaining the full ventilation of the mine and controlling the quality of the downhole air may account for a large proportion of the operating costs of the mine. To address this issue, Caterpillar has developed the Reduced Ventilation Kit (VR Kit), which uses specific engine hardware and software modifications to minimize PM emissions. According to the Canadian (CANMET) downhole ventilation standard, the R3000H downhole mining loader reduces ventilation requirements by 42% compared to the R2900G XTRA. In addition to minimizing PM, the VR kit on the R3000H also reduces fuel consumption and increases double stall rimpull to improve machine performance. Inheritance: mature technology The reliable design of the R2900 XTRA is reflected in the new R3000H downhole mining loader components. These components include the Cat C15 ACERT® engine, the Cat 4F/4R planetary power shift transmission (with electronic control and manual/automatic shifting modes), heavy-duty final drive, four-wheel oil-immersed multi-plate brakes, and Cat High-pressure XT® hydraulic hoses and high-flow hydraulic systems with O-rings, optimized steel frames with extensive finite element analysis to ensure torsional resistance and durable buckets for specific applications.
