Shanghai Volkswas sold 88,000 vehicles in May

According to official sources provided by Shanghai Volkswagen, Shanghai Volkswagen achieved sales of 88,008 vehicles in May 2011, an increase of 18.1% year-on-year. In terms of mass brands, TIGUAN Tiguan sold 9,499 vehicles in May; LAVIDA LaVida sold 21,814 vehicles, and kept a monthly record of over 20,000; the PASSAT family delivered 9,238 new vehicles in May, including 3,273 The entire new generation Passat, which has just been listed for more than a month, has sold 4,500 units for 45 days and the POLO family has sold 11,665 units in May, continuing to maintain a monthly sales record of over 10,000; Santana sold in May. 16,769 vehicles.

In the Skoda brand, Fabia Jingrui, the flagship high-end segment of the A0 segment, sold 3,388 units in May and remained stable at the monthly sales threshold of 3,000. Octavia Mingrui's May sales rebounded to 9,669 units, up 32% year-on-year. And Superb Hao Rui of the Skoda flagship model sold 4,112 vehicles in May.

In terms of production capacity, the popular Shanghai Volkswagen 6 plant, previously confirmed by the Shanghai Volkswagen Public Relations Department, said: “The Sixth Factory has nothing to say.” At present, Tiguan has added a production line, and Shanghai Volkswagen No. 4 Plant (Nanjing Factory) has also begun the transformation plan. Shanghai Volkswagen’s Nanjing plant will invest 1.3 billion Euros to put into production new models and expand production capacity, including new production facilities such as bodywork, painting and assembly shop.

It is reported that so far, the entire new generation of Passat orders have received 50,000, but due to the limited capacity of the Nanjing factory, consumers need to meditation. The capacity expansion of the Nanjing plant will be completed in 2012, when the Shanghai plant of Shanghai Volkswagen will have 300,000 capacity.
