In May last year, the Guangdong Provincial Government officially introduced the implementation plan for the promotion of the use of LED lighting products in Guangdong Province. It is required that from the date of implementation of the plan, all new projects in the public lighting sector in the province will adopt LED lights, and the non-LED lighting originally used in the Pearl River Delta region. Products should be completed in batches before the end of 2013. After nearly a year of brewing, the program entered an accelerated implementation period.
According to the tendering plan announced by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Science and Technology, the total amount of tenders for street lamps and tunnel lights throughout Guangdong Province last year was 75,000 baht, and the number of tenders for the first three months of this year alone reached 76,000 baht. Xie Zhaohui, director of the Jiangmen Network Chamber of Commerce, believes that the current number of tenders is only a small part of the popularization policy. With the further implementation of the popularization policy, the amount of follow-up bidding will be even greater. Not only Guangdong is vigorously promoting LED lighting, but under the umbrella of energy conservation and emission reduction, local governments have promoted LED lighting as an important policy.
Based on this, Xie Zhaohui, general manager of Santai Lighting, said: Last year, the number of bidding for LED street lights and tunnel lights was limited by local governments. In 2013, the market will enter a concentrated outbreak period. Xie Zhaohui predicts that LED outdoor lighting will become the fastest growing segment of LED lighting in the next three years. In 2015, the outdoor LED market in China will reach nearly 15 billion yuan.
Pulling LEDs to Rapidly Popularize Xie Zhaohui believes that the popularity of LED lighting in the field of public lighting can play a demonstration role, and it has an influence on promoting the popularization of LED lighting in the commercial lighting market and opening up the civilian market. At present, the high-quality LED products on the market are at least 50% cheaper than ordinary energy-saving fluorescent lamps. The number of lamps that the government has tendered for is about 10,000. Compared with the number of ordinary residents, the energy-saving effect and scale effect are reflected. more obvious.
On the other hand, the outdoor lighting field has higher performance requirements for LED lamps, and can also drive LED technology and quality improvement. A street lamp has to undergo various weather conditions such as wind and sun, and it can be said that the LED lighting application market has the highest requirements on the performance of lamps. Xie Zhaohui told reporters that in order to ensure the quality of street lamps, every street lamp produced by Santai Lighting has to undergo strict and long-term testing experiments before it can be put on the market. This has a strong demonstration role for the current LED market with uneven product quality.
The industry expects that the commercial lighting field, which also has a certain scale effect, may become a market area that has been opened on a large scale after the outdoor lighting market. According to the roadmap for the elimination of incandescent lamps issued by the state, the incandescent lamp will withdraw from the historical stage from October 1, 2016. This means that the larger-scale civilian market is waiting for the enterprise to open up, and the LED enterprise focusing on outdoor lighting. They have also extended to the civilian market.
