Market share of Chinese auto market in Chile continues to rise

According to the statistics of the Intelligent Automotive Industry Association (ANAC), Chinese brand cars entered this market in 2007. In that year, only 5425 vehicles were sold, with a market share of 2.3%. In 2010, 20,500 vehicles were sold, and the market share increased to 8%. If all Chinese cars are taken into account, it will increase to 12%. In addition to sales growth, the number of Chinese auto brands has also gradually increased. Only four years ago, it has now grown to 16 brands and sold 59 cars.

At present, the Great Wall ranks first among Chinese brands in the Zhizhi car market, accounting for 22% of the total sales of Chinese cars sold in the Chilean market. Chery ranks second among Chinese brands, and the agent SK Berge stated that Chery’s market share has increased from 0.6% five years ago to the current 1.3%. Currently, more than 11,000 Chery users have traveled across the streets in the country. We hope to become one of the top ten automotive brands in Chile in 2016.

In addition, JAC, Hafei, BYD, and Geely have also achieved good results. The above 6 brands accounted for more than 60% of the Chinese brand cars in the Chilean market and accounted for 5.5% of the entire automotive market. For example, China-made Chevrolet cars have sold 13 334 cars in Chile in January-April this year, and the light-duty auto industry has sold 137,156 accessories as of May.

ANAC said that among the Chinese cars sold this year, the best-selling models are cars and light commercial vehicles, with sales of 5,601 vehicles and 2015 vehicles respectively.

According to industry insiders, the current source of China's Juji Automobile imports is No. 3, second only to South Korea and Japan, and the future prospects are bright. It will compete with Korean cars for the top spot. Great Wall Motor’s market share is expected to reach 8.5%-9% this year, and it is expected to rise to 15% in 2016; Chery Automobile will also maintain growth in the next five years.
