In the first half of 2010, the overseas orders of German machine tools grew faster than domestic orders

According to the latest statistics released by the German Machine Tool Manufacturers Association (VDW), in the first half of 2010, the cumulative orders of German machine tools increased by 58% compared with the same period in 2009, of which domestic orders increased by 51% and overseas orders increased by 61%.

VDW Managing Director Dr. Wilfried Sch? Ferr said that in the second quarter of 2010, German machine tool orders increased significantly by 71%, of which domestic orders increased by 81% and overseas orders increased by 66%. This reflects a strong recovery in domestic market demand in Germany, but also shows that the production of various industrial areas in Germany are continuing to recover. Dr.WilfriedSch? Ferr also pointed out that there are still uncertainties in the current industry development and that the current situation should be kept calm.

VDW expects that the overall sales of the German machine tool industry in 2010 will still fall by 12% year-on-year.
