The 83-year-old old man is now reading an ancient book in front of a dirty book. Hearing that people came to see the village history he wrote, Zhang Baotian carefully took out a copy of the text and the cover read "History of Xiao Haizi Village."

Xiao Hai Zihai Xiao Haizi

“The village name Xiao Hai Zi was originally 'Xiao Zi Zi', and the 'Zi Zi’ was later changed to 'Word'. This was wrong. The origin of the village name was written in the history of the village.” Zhang Baotian said that Xiao Haizi has been a member of the Ming Dynasty. During the years of Zhengde, they began to settle into villages and it has been about 500 years. At that time, there was a water lake in front of the village. According to custom, the lake was called Haizi. However, this lake is much smaller than the nearby Nanhaizi, and the village named Xiao Haizi.

Village history record village changes

Zhang Baotian has been a lifelong teacher of the people. The villagers often find him in writing and calculating. He has also been paying attention to the changes in the village. He was greatly visited by foreign experts from the country’s leaders and his daughter-in-law. He was quietly recorded. As early as the middle of the 1960s, the conscious preparation of the village history began from the retirement in 1992.

In order to clarify the location of his ancestral home, Zhang Baotian also wrote a letter to Shandong Provincial Civil Affairs Department to find a place called Zhangjialou in Shandong Province. Later, the elderly perseverance, after repeated tracing and contact, and finally confirmed that the ancestral home is Zhangjialou Village, Dezhou Plain County House Township.

40 years ago "Beijing Daily" reported the village

Basic farmland construction, improved soil and water management, increased fertilization materials, and transformed the saline-alkali sandy land into a large area of ​​high-yield and stable-producing farmland that can be irrigated by drought, and turn it from a food-deficit team to a food-remnant team.

The brilliance of Xiao Haizi has to start with the tractor.

The villager Zhang Xichun said that Xiaohaizi Village had tractors in Tongxian County, and villagers drove tractors to visit Tiananmen Square. “At that time, the tractors were still rare, and it was very windy to drive them out. Knowing that there were many people in Tiananmen Square, they deliberately drove tractors to pass from Tiananmen Square. The rate of return was quite high.”

According to the history of the village, since 1971, the Xiaohaizi Brigade purchased a large number of agricultural machinery, including 18 large and medium-sized tractors, two “Beijing 130” vehicles, and 119 matching agricultural machinery. The village has also built 4 grain drying warehouses and 2 cold windproof moldy warehouses. More than a dozen operations such as tilling and sowing have been mechanized and become a red flag for the nation’s agricultural mechanization. Liang Jinglin, an expert from the Agricultural Bureau of the Municipal Bureau of Agriculture, said that it was rare for a village to have a grain drying warehouse and a cool wind and mold shelter. In the late 1970s, these facilities were not widely promoted.

On June 18, 1977, Vice Premier Yu Qiuli Chen Yonggui visited Xiaohaizi Village to inspect the situation of agricultural production.

On April 6, 1978, Wu Lanfu, vice chairman of the National People's Congress, transferred a new large tractor returned from Australia to the Xiaohaizi Brigade. “I remember when the tractors were all 75 horsepower, and the tractor from Australia had 210 horsepower and air-conditioning. Everyone was scrambling to watch.” Zhang Xichun said.

In August 1981, an agricultural delegation consisting of 21 countries visited the Xiaohaizi Brigade to investigate the improvement of the saline-alkali land.

Write village history as a descendant

As everyone knows, in the 1960s and 1970s, Xiao Hai Zi was extremely popular, and it once created the myth that the grain yield doubled, and took the lead in realizing the entire agricultural production. Mechanization has become a banner of agricultural mechanization throughout the country.” Zhang Baotian said that Dazhai was a shining example of the agricultural front at that time, and all parts of the country were “learning Dazhai,” and Xiao Haizi was known as the “Dazhai of Beijing”. There is a saying that learns from Dazhai and learns Xiaohai.

But the history of Xiao Haizi is heavy, and no matter how difficult it is, it must be recorded truthfully. Whether it is right or wrong, it is not commented on, but only for future generations.
