China is expected to achieve digital instrumentation

At the launch ceremony of the “Digital City China Tour” held in Linyi City, Shandong Province, Xu Deming, director of the State Bureau of Surveying and Mapping, said: “In the past two years, the State Bureau of Surveying and Mapping has promoted digital city construction as a nose-noise project. As of now, there are 112 cities across the country. (District) carried out pilot and promotion of digital city construction, accounting for approximately 1/3 of the total number of prefecture-level cities in the country. It is expected that by 2015, the construction of digital cities in prefecture-level cities and qualified county-level cities will be completed, and digital China will be basically established. ."

Xu Deming said that digital city construction has achieved initial success. From 2006 to 2008, since the State Bureau of Surveying and Mapping organized the pilot work on the construction of digital urban geospatial frameworks in 40 cities, a large-scale basic geographic information database for large and medium-sized cities has been completed and initially updated on demand. A number of management systems based on geographic information in traffic management, municipal services, underground pipe networks, and public security fires have reversed the lack of geographical information resources in the construction of city management and informationization. At the same time, it also played an active role in promoting scientific instrumentation decisions, fine management, efficient service, and low-carbon life.
